What’s my hate factor?

We found a little easter egg of sorts when we were catching up on our Daily Shows last night. Rob Cordy was doing a piece on how he, as a racist, was discriminated in the everyday world. It was a pretty funny piece, especially the flashbacks, but the best part was at the end of the skit he flashed a list of people that he himself hated. The list started off with pretty normal content and at a normal speed, but it started going too fast to read.

Now, as part of the Tivo community, I have the power to pause the list and read it at will. Some of the notables on the slo-mo list were “People who get all their news from the Daily Show” (we’re semi-guilty) and some others listed here. As we’re reading through the list Brandy notices that one of the list items was listpauser@yahoo.com, so I decided to drop it a line, exchange below. Apparently some of the folks from the Tivo community did the same thing, but their replies were a little different.

I just wanted to see if this was a real account.

Then I got this reply back a few hours later

Thanks for your email. Please enjoy this not-at-all automated response, and, for a special message just for you, head over to www.listpauser.com.Best,
Rob

P.S. If you are writing to point out that “Canadian” was on the list twice, please be aware that that is because I hate them double. If you are writing to point out that “Star-Bellied Sneetches” was misspelled, then please be aware that I also hate nit-pickers.

I checked out the site the email linked to and my first response “that’s kind of neat” but, when I found the guestbook the Cordry had set up for the link, it turned into “that’s awesome!”. Leave it to a seasoned hater to give the masses a method to spread the hate around. I just wish he had posted a full hate list so I could determine my “hate factor”. I also wish I knew what he level of automation was, but I guess there’s no way to really tell.
