I’m soo tired of hearing people complain about the supposed war that is being waged against Christmas in the United States right now. I kept seeing clips from talk show hosts in outrage because of attempts to “take the Christ out of Christmas” or using “Holidays” instead of “Christmas”.
I would venture to say that Christ probably ditched Christmas on his own when it started becoming a celebration of how much shit can you buy for others and get for yourself. If Christians want to follow the religious observation so much then I’m sure they won’t mind not shopping for themselves or anyone else and just having family prayer and thanks for the holidays.
I think that the REAL reason for the ‘war’ raging against Christmas is to draw attention from other political problems that the predominant party is experiencing right now. The goal here is to polarize the constituents while ignoring the more important issues. When it comes down to it, does it really matter if people want to say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”? What saddens me worse than this deplorable tactic is that the left and the rest of the country is BUYING IT! Come on, sheep!
Do we as really need to convey to the rest of the world, and non-Christian Americans, that we don’t give a fuck what they’re celebrating and that Jesus is the only thing worth that matters in this borrowed holiday? Why isn’t it okay to present a tolerant view of the holiday season? Better yet, why are we buying into this stupid argument?
